Nervecentre V9.0 Help for Users
Cancelling a procedure, theatre booking, or preadmission
You can cancel procedures from Patient Detail > Patient admin, or from Patient Detail > Procedures. You can cancel a patient's procedure before the patient has been sent for.
-
If you cancel an elective procedure with a theatre booking, you can choose to return the patient to a waiting list.
If the procedure has an associated theatre booking and preadmission, the theatre booking and preadmission are automatically cancelled.
The patient isn't discharged. If the patient has a referral, you can discharge the patient when you cancel their referral from Patient Detail > Patient admin > Show pathways > Referrals. You can also manually close an episode of care and discharge the patient.
-
If you cancel an emergency procedure, the patient is removed from the emergency waiting list.
You can cancel a theatre booking and return the patient to an emergency waiting list.
You can reopen procedures that were cancelled in the last 12 hours from Patient Detail > Procedures. Depending on your permissions, you can reopen procedures any time after they were cancelled.
You can also edit or cancel a preadmission or theatre booking, without cancelling the procedure. You might:
-
Edit a preadmission to change the ward
If the patient has a bed reservation, and you change the ward, Nervecentre clears the bed reservation.
-
Cancel a preadmission if the patient is already admitted and is having the procedure as part of their current admission
If you cancel a preadmission that is associated with a procedure that has started or finished, Nervecentre doesn't cancel the procedure.
-
Edit a theatre booking to move both the preadmission and the theatre booking to a different day
-
Cancel a theatre booking and add the procedure back to the waiting list
