Recording information before a patient's procedure
pre-operative information, pre op info, preop info
Before a patient's operation and during pre-op, you can record your findings in pre-op notes, and pre-procedure documents. You can add these documents from Patient Detail > Procedures.
The documents available to you depend on your organisation.

Adding pre-op notes

From Inpatients, Outpatients, or Theatres > Patient Detail, search for a patient.

Select Procedures.

Double-click on a procedure.

From the list on the left, select Plan.

Mouseover Pre-Op Notes and select +.

Select the document you want to add.
The documents available to you depend on your organisation.

From Inpatients, Outpatients, or Theatres > Patient Detail, search for a patient.

Select Procedures.
-
Double-click on a procedure.

From the list on the left, select Plan.

Mouseover Pre Procedure Documents and select +.

Select the document you want to add.
The documents available to you depend on your organisation.
Submitting documents
You must complete all mandatory information to submit a document. You don't need to submit these documents before the patient's procedure, but you should submit them.
To submit a document:

From Inpatients, Outpatients, or Theatres > Patient Detail, search for a patient.

Select Procedures.

Double-click on a procedure.

From the list on the left, select Plan.

From Pre-Op Notes or Pre Procedure Documents, select a document that is not submitted.
Documents that aren't submitted display .

Complete all mandatory fields.
Mandatory fields are marked .

From the bottom of the form, select Submit.
Reopening documents
You can reopen submitted documents.

From Inpatients, Outpatients, or Theatres > Patient Detail, search for a patient.

Select Procedures.
-
Double-click on a procedure.

From the list on the left, select Plan.

From Pre-Op Notes or Pre Procedure Documents, select a submitted document.
Submitted documents show .

Select Undo Submit.
Cancelling documents
You can cancel a document if it is no longer applicable and not submitted. If you want to cancel a submitted document, you must reopen it first.

You can read cancelled documents, but you can't edit them.
You can't reopen a cancelled document. You can add another document.
To cancel a document:

From Inpatients, Outpatients, or Theatres > Patient Detail, search for a patient.

Select Procedures.

Double-click on a procedure.

From the list on the left, select Plan.

From Pre-Op Notes or Pre Procedure Documents, select a document that is not submitted.
Documents that aren't submitted display .

Select Cancel Form.
