Booking a pre-op appointment

You can book a patients a pre-op appointment from Patient admin > Show pathways > Procedures.

Booking a pre-op appointment on a mobile

You can't do this on a mobile.

Booking a pre-op appointment on a desktop
  1. Open the patient's record.

    • From  Inpatients, select Patient List > double-click on a patient's name > Patient Detail.

    • From  Outpatients, select Clinic List > double-click on a patient's name > Patient Detail.

  2. From Patient Detail > Patient admin > Show pathways > Procedures > Scheduled and Waiting List Procedures, find a procedure with the status 'On waiting list' or 'Theatre booked'.

  3. Select the procedure.

  4. Select Add Pre-Op.

  5. Select the type of appointment.

    For example, initial pre-op appointment with nurse.

    A form appears.

  6. To choose dates the patient asked you to avoid, select Avoid dates.

    For example, a patient might tell you when they are going on holiday.

  7. To choose an appointment time, select Appointment slot.

  8. Complete the form, including all mandatory fields.

    Mandatory fields are marked .

  9. Select Confirm appointment.

  10. Select a correspondence option to change who the letters are sent to.

    To not send the letters, select None.

    The options you see depend on your organisation.

  11. Select Click to preview letters.

    The letters appear in your organisation's PDF viewer.

    A list of letters appears on the right. This shows the recipient of each letter and how the letter is delivered. For example, 'GP - MESH' or 'Patient - Manual print'.

  12. Select Send.

  13. The appointment appears in Patient admin > Show pathways > Appts > Booked Future Appointments.

    The appointment's status is 'Appointment booked'.
