Viewing and managing distribution lists

A distribution list allows you to group people under one label. When you want to send a message to a specific group of people, you can choose to send the message to the distribution list instead of choosing each recipient individually. Each person in the distribution list receives a copy of the message.

When you send a message to a distribution list, each member of the list receives a copy of the message in their inbox. When you send a message to a shared inbox, one message is sent to the shared inbox, and each member of the inbox can view that one message.
