Viewing and managing chat rooms

Chat rooms allow you to communicate with colleagues by posting updates into a conversation thread that all members of the chat room can view and respond to. You can view and manage chat rooms from Messaging > Message Settings > Chat Rooms.

  • From Messaging > Message Settings > Chat Rooms, select the type of chat rooms you want to view and manage.

Show All Chat Rooms

View all chat rooms.

Show All Public Chat Rooms

View only public chat rooms.

Show Chat Rooms I'm A Member Of

View chat rooms you are a member of.

Show Chat Rooms I Am An Administrator For

View chat rooms where you are the administrator of the chat room.

Show Chat Rooms I Created

View chat rooms you created.

  1. From Messaging > Message Settings > Chat Rooms, select the type of chat rooms you want to view.

  2. Select a chat room you want to delete.

  3. Select Delete Chat Room > Confirm.

  1. From Messaging > Message Settings > Chat Rooms, select the type of chat rooms you want to view.

  2. Select a chat room that you are a member of.

  3. Select Leave Room.

  1. From Messaging > Message Settings > Chat Rooms, select the type of chat rooms you want to view.

  2. Select a chat room.

  3. Select Add User.

  4. Enter the names of the people you want to add to the chat room.

  5. Select Add.

  1. From Messaging > Message Settings > Chat Rooms, select the type of chat rooms you want to view.

  2. Select a chat room.

  3. Select one or more subscribers.

  4. Select Remove User.

One or more people can be the administrator of a chat room. Administrators of chat rooms can add and remove users from a chat room.

  1. From Messaging > Message Settings > Chat Rooms, select the type of chat rooms you want to view.

  2. Select a chat room.

  3. Select one or more users.

  4. Set if those users are administrators of the chat room.

    • To allow the selected users to add and remove subscribers, select Make Room Administrator.

    • To prevent the selected users from adding and removing subscribers, select Unset Room Administrator.
