Pausing prescriptions
You can pause a medication from the prescribe page and from the MAR Medicines Administration Record. Also known as drug chart. A list of all medication prescribed and administered (given).. Paused medications still appear on the MAR but are marked Paused and cannot be administered.
A paused prescription remains paused until actively cancelled, or the medication is stopped.

The ability to pause and resume medication is permissions based.
You cannot pause a fluid prescription.
Pausing prescriptions on a mobile

You can pause a prescription in three ways on a mobile.
Pausing a prescription from the prescribe pages

From your patient list, select a patient.

Select Prescribe > Current, select a prescription.

Select Pause prescription, enter a comment, and select Pause.

The prescription is paused. To administer the medication, resume the prescription.

From your patient list, select a patient.

From Chart, select a prescription.

Select > Pause prescription, and enter a comment.

The prescription is paused. To administer the medication, resume the prescription.
Pausing a prescription from timeline view

From your patient list, select a patient.

From Chart, select a prescription.

Select a cell for when the prescription should be paused. This can be a current or future dose.
On Nervecentre for desktop, future dose cells are indicated by a +. On a mobile, future dose cells are empty.

Select Pause prescription and enter a comment.

The prescription is paused. To administer the medication, resume the prescription.

From your patient list, select a patient.

From Chart, select a paused prescription.

Select the dose cell for when the prescription should be resumed. This can be a current or future dose.

Select Resume and add a comment.
Pausing prescriptions on a desktop

From current
You can stop one or more prescriptions for the same reason.

From Inpatients > Patient List > double-click on a patient's name > Patient Detail, select Meds.

Select > Current.

Select the medications.
-
Select Pause prescription.

Optional: add notes as free text.

Select Pause prescription.
From the MAR by selecting a medication

From Inpatients > Patient List > double-click on a patient's name > Patient Detail, select Meds.

Select .

Select the medication.

Select Pause prescription.

Enter and save a reason for pausing the prescription.
The prescription is paused from the current time. Any overdue or missed doses remain overdue or missed and can be given late or recorded retrospectively.
From the MAR by selecting a dose

From Inpatients > Patient List > double-click on a patient's name > Patient Detail, select Meds.

Select .

Select the needed dose cell from a date column.
You can select a current (due) or future (overdue) dose.

Select Pause prescription.
For infusions, select Pause infusion.

Enter a reason for pausing the prescription, and then save.

From Inpatients > Patient List > double-click on a patient's name > Patient Detail, select Meds.

Select .

Select a paused cell.

Select Cancel pause.
For infusions, select Resume infusion.

Enter a reason for resuming the prescription, and then save.
