Preadmitting patients

You can preadmit a patient from Patient Detail > Patient admin > Preadmit. You preadmit when you are expecting the patient to visit the hospital. You can add a preadmission to a new episode of care, or an existing episode of care.

Depending on your organisation, Nervecentre can create preadmissions automatically when it receives information from an ambulance, or NHS 111.

You can view a list of expected patients who have preadmissions from  Inpatients > Expects.

You can view and manage a patient's preadmissions from Patient Detail > Patient admin > Show pathways > TCI. You can edit or cancel a preadmission. You can admit a patient with a preadmission, or record that they Did Not Attend (DNA).
