Nervecentre V9.0 Help for Users
Managing MDI devices for charts
Depending on your organisation and permissions, you can assign MDI devices to a patient and view the data from those devices in charts. An MDI device might be a patient monitor, a ventilator, or a drug pump.
You can only assign a device to one patient at a time. When you assign a device to a patient, you must:
-
Choose a monitoring profile
The monitoring profile determines the data that Nervecentre samples and how often it samples the data.
-
Enter the start time
The start time for the new assignment must not overlap with the end time of the previous assignment. For example, Device A was assigned to Jo Smith from 09:00 to 14:00. When you try to assign Device A to Pam Green, you must enter a start time after 14:00.
When a device is no longer being used for a patient, you can unassign the device from the patient and enter the end time.
You can view the history of devices assigned to a patient. If you assigned a device to a patient in error, you can strike out the device assignment. Nervecentre automatically strikes out any data recorded from that device during the time the device was assigned to the patient.

You can change the monitoring profile of a device assigned to a patient. The monitoring profile determines the data that Nervecentre samples and how often it samples the data.
For example, if a patient moves from theatres to ICU, but keeps the same devices, you might change the monitoring profile. In theatres, you might use a monitoring profile that records an observation every minute. In ICU, you might use a monitoring profile that records an observation every 15 minutes.
