Confirming retrospectively that a dose was administered
You can retrospectively confirm that a medication dose was given.
Confirming retrospectively that a dose was administered on a mobile

If you are unable to record a medication dose at the time of administration, you can retrospectively confirm that it was given.

From your patient list, select a patient.

From Chart, select a prescription.

Select a dose.
-
To confirm the dose was administered:

For regular medications and stat doses, select Confirm given retrospectively.

For PRN Pro Re Nata. It refers to drugs prescribed to be taken as needed, as opposed to at pre-specified intervals. medications, select Confirm PRN retrospectively.

For due fluids and infusions, select Confirm started retrospectively or Confirm given retrospectively.

Complete any mandatory fields.
Mandatory fields are marked .
For example, the dose quantity, dose rate, route, or volume given.

Enter the date and time the dose was administered.
For fluids and infusions, enter the time started and/or stopped.

Enter any notes.

Select Submit.

If you are unable to record a witnessed medication dose at the time of administration, you can retrospectively confirm that it was given and witnessed.

Complete this task from your own account.

From your patient list, select a patient.

From Chart, select a prescription.

Select the dose that needs a witness.

Select Record witness.

Enter a note.

If you are unable to record a medication dose at the time of administration, you can retrospectively confirm that it was given.

From Inpatients > Patient List > double-click on a patient's name > Patient Detail, select Meds.

From the MAR Medicines Administration Record. Also known as drug chart. A list of all medication prescribed and administered (given)., select a dose.

To confirm the dose was administered:

For regular medications and stat doses, select Confirm given retrospectively.

If you are unable to record a witnessed medication dose at the time of administration, you can retrospectively confirm that it was given and witnessed.
If a medication dose that needs a witness is given retrospectively, appears in the dose cell on the MAR, with the recorded time of administration.

From Inpatients > Patient List > double-click on a patient's name > Patient Detail, select Meds.

To witness the medication dose retrospectively, select the cell with , then select Record witness.

Enter notes and save.
no longer appears in the dose cell on the MAR.
You can't strike out a retrospective witness signature.
