Requesting dispensing from the hospital pharmacy

You can ask the hospital pharmacy to dispense medications.

Pharmacists in the hospital pharmacy dispense the medication. The patient collects the medication from the hospital pharmacy.

Requesting dispensing from the hospital pharmacy on a mobile

You can't do this on a mobile.

Requesting dispensing from the hospital pharmacy on a desktop

1. From  Outpatients > Clinic List > double-click on a patient's name > Patient Detail, select Meds.

2. Select  next to the name of the correct appointment.

3. Select  next to one or more of the medications you want dispensed.

4. Select Dispense using Hospital Pharmacy.

5. Select a pharmacy from the list.

   The opening times of the pharmacy are shown.

6. Select a date and enter a time. This is the date and time the medication needs to be ready for collection.

   To set the time to the current time, select Set to now.

7. Optional: enter notes.

8. Select Submit.

   On the outpatient prescription list, the dispense status is 'Hospital Pharmacy – Ordered'.

   The status changes when the pharmacist processes the order.
