Search criteria for reports
From Back office > Search, you can search for information and create reports.
You can search for any of the information listed below. Under each heading is a list of search criteria you can use.
Some search criteria appear by default, and some you can add. To add more search criteria, select +.

You can search for a specific patient, or a group of patients.
Surname |
Enter the patient's last name. |

Sounds like |
Enter a name that sounds similar to the patient's last name. Nervecentre searches for last names that start with a similar sound. For example, you enter green. The results show patients with the last name Green or Graham. |

Merged |
Sometimes a patient record is merged with another patient record to create a new merged patient record. This new patient record is the active record. The patient records that existed before the merge are called non-retained merged records. By default, shows Active. Select one of the following options:

PDS Status |
This is only available if your organisation uses PDS Personal Demographic Service, an NHS system. The PDS helps healthcare professionals to identify patients and match them to their health records. It also allows them to contact and communicate with patients. with Nervecentre. Select one of the following options.

You can search for all visits of a specific patient, or all visits to a specific ward or area.

You can search for the current visit of a specific patient, or the current visit for all patients on a specific ward or area.

Select a ward to search for tasks located in that ward. |
Date Raised |
Select one of the following options:

Category |
Enter the name of a task category. Searches for tasks in this task category. You can enter part of the name or the full name. For example, if you search for 'think', a list appears of tasks with the task category 'Red High Risk Sepsis Think Task' or 'Amber Moderate Risk Sepsis Think Task'. |
Description |
Enter a word to search for tasks with that word in their description. |
Assigned To |
Select one or more users to search for tasks assigned to those users. Type to filter the list of users. |
Assigned By |
Select one or more users to search for tasks assigned by those users. Type to filter the list of users. |
Duration (mins) |
Enter a duration in minutes to search for tasks open for that duration. For example, enter 2 to search for tasks that have been open for 2 minutes. |
Priority |
Enter a number between 1 and 5. Enter 5 to search for high priority tasks. Enter 1 to search for low priority tasks. |

You can search for patients with specific observations.

Select to search for a patient. |
Ward |
Select a ward to search for observations recorded in that ward. |
Date |
Select one of the following options:

Username |
Select one or more users to search for observations recorded by those users. Type to filter the list of users. |
Due (mins) |
Enter a time in minutes. Searches for observations recorded this many minutes after they became due. For example, if you enter 8, a list appears of observations that were recorded 8 minutes after they became overdue. |
Overdue (mins) |
Enter a time in minutes. Searches for observations recorded this many minutes after they became overdue. For example, if you enter 5. A list appears of observations that were recorded 5 minutes after they became overdue. |
Min EWS |
Some observations return an EWS Early Warning Score. A vital signs recording and scoring system used with adult patients. The scoring system is designed to identify and alert appropriate staff in the case of deteriorating patients.. Enter a number to search for observations with that EWS or higher. |

You can search for patients with specific assessments.

Select an assessment to search for those assessments. |

Struckout |
Select an option to search for assessments that are struck out, or not struck out. |
Min RAG |
The outcome of an assessment can be a score. This score is associated with a colour to give a RAG rating. Select a RAG rating A red/amber/green ‘traffic light’ rating system. It can denote progress with various milestones to search for assessments with that RAG rating or a higher RAG rating. |
Result |
Enter the result of the assessment. Searches for assessments with that result. For example, alcohol assessments might have the results low risk and increasing risk. If you enter low risk, a list of assessments with that result appears. |
Min Score |
The outcome of an assessment can be a score. This score is associated with a colour to give a RAG rating. Enter a number to search for assessments with that score or higher. |

Enter a time in minutes. Searches for assessments performed this many minutes after they became due. For example, if you enter 8, a list appears of assessments that were performed 8 minutes after they became overdue. |

You can search for ward stays. During an inpatient visit or a UEC attendance, a patient might moved between different wards or areas. The period of time in one ward or area is called a ward stay.

Select one or more options to search for letters with a specific status. For example, Blocked - patient deceased or Failed to deliver - invalid/missing patient data. |

Select an option to search for letters sent by the patient app, or sent by another method. |

You can search for letters, and view their previous and current statuses.

Some events are recorded in the audit log. You can search for specific events in the audit log. For example, a user searching for a patient, or a user viewing a letter.

You can search for events on Nervecentre servers. For example, admitting a patient to a ward, viewing information about a patient, or logging in to Nervecentre.

Nervecentre sends and receives HL7 messages about e-RS Electronic Referral Service. Used by GPs/patients to book initial appointments with specialists at a convenient time. This would replace the current system where a referral is made to the specialist who then sends out a letter with an appointment – if the patient can’t attend that appointment they’ll have to call back and rearrange. referrals to and from third-party systems. These messages relate to specific events. You can search for events related to e-RS referrals.

Enter an ID for a message sent between Nervecentre and e-RS. |

You can search for events related to MESH Message Exchange for Social Care and Health. The main messaging service used across health and social care, allowing health and care organisations to communicate securely over the Health and Social Care Network (HSCN). Nervcentre is able to use MESH to transfer data to other healthcare organisations that use MESH. For example, Nervecentre can send letters to GPs who have a MESH mailbox.. For example, Nervecentre checking its MESH inbox, attempts to send MESH messages, and attempts to track MESH messages.
