Editing and cancelling an inpatient admission
You can edit when a patient was admitted and discharged from Patient Detail > Patient admin > Show pathways > Inpatient. This includes inpatient visits, visits as a ward attender, visits to an assessment area, and visits to a virtual ward.
You can edit the ward and bed the patient was admitted to, and the consultant and specialty responsible for the patient when the patient was admitted. You can edit these during or after the patient's visit. For example, another user entered the incorrect ward and bed. You add the correct ward and bed so you can track the patient accurately during their visit.
You can cancel a patient's current visit. If you cancel a visit, all data against the visit is discarded. You might do this if the wrong patient was admitted and you want to cancel the admission.
Editing and cancelling an inpatient admission on a mobile
You can't do this on a mobile.
Editing and cancelling an inpatient admission on a desktop

From Inpatients > Patient List > double-click on a patient's name > Patient Detail, select Patient admin.

Select Show pathways > Inpatients.

Select next to a visit.

Select Change admission time.

Enter the date and time the patient was admitted.

Select Update.

From Inpatients > Patient List > double-click on a patient's name > Patient Detail, select Patient admin.

Select Show pathways > Inpatients.

Select next to a visit.

Select Change admission details.

Select the ward the patient was admitted to.

Select the bed the patient was admitted to.

Select the consultant responsible for the patient when the patient was admitted.

Select the specialty of the consultant.

Select Update.

From Inpatients > Patient List > double-click on a patient's name > Patient Detail, select Patient admin.

Select Show pathways > Inpatients.

Select next to a visit.

Select Change discharge time.

Enter the discharge date and time.

Select Update.

You can cancel a patient's current visit. You can't cancel a previous visit.

From Inpatients > Patient List > double-click on a patient's name > Patient Detail, select Patient admin.

Select Show pathways > Inpatients.

Select next to the patient's current visit.

Select Cancel admission.
A warning appears. If you cancel the visit, all data against this visit is discarded. This can't be undone.

Enter a reason for cancelling the patient's visit.

Select Cancel admission.
