Adding planned medications
You can add medication for planned intentions, for example, surgery, in advance of a hospital admission. You can only do this on a desktop.

From Patient Detail, select Search/Register to access or create the patient record.
If the patient has not yet been admitted, no ward or bed is shown.

Select Meds.

You can enter Allergies and Height and Weight in the top banner.

Fields marked are a mandatory part of the admission process. If you cannot complete them, select Override. Enter a reason. This is auditable.

Select . Only planned medication can be added at the non admitted stage.

Select Add planned med. Add planned medication as you would for a normal prescription.

Planned medications appear on Meds > > Planned.

When the patient is admitted, the planned medication can be used to prescribe.
