Nervecentre V8.1 Help for Users
About patient lists
smartlists, smart lists
A patient list is a list of patients who match a set of criteria. Nervecentre automatically updates a patient list when a patient matches or no longer matches the criteria.
For example, you have a patient list called 'Ward 19' that includes all the patients in ward 19.
-
If a patient is moved from ward 19 to another ward, Nervecentre removes the patient from the patient list
-
If a patient is moved to ward 19, Nervecentre adds the patient to the patient list
You can view patient lists on a mobile or desktop.
About patient lists on a mobile
On a mobile, you can:
-
View patient lists
-
Set a patient list as your personal patient list
You can remove patients on your patient list. You receive tasks and alerts for patients on your patient list.
Depending on your permissions, you can manually add patients who don’t match the criteria to a patient list. For example, your organisation might have a patient list for CCOT Critical Care Outreach Team., and allow clinicians in CCOT to manually add patients to this list. Manually-added patients remain on this patient list until a clinician removes them.

You can view patient lists from Patients.
-
On iOS, select Patients.
-
On Android, select > Patients.
About patient lists on a desktop
On a desktop, you can view patient list dashboards. A patient list dashboard is the combination of a patient list and a clinical note profile.
You can create, group, and edit patient lists if you have the correct permissions.

You can view:
-
A list of currently admitted patients from Inpatients > Patient List
-
A list of expected patients from Inpatients > Discharged
-
A list of discharged patients from Inpatients > Expects
You can use the same patient list and clinical note profile at all these locations, but they return a different list of patients. For example, the patient list is 'Adult ED' and the clinical note profile is 'ED Dashboard'.
-
From Inpatients > Patient List, you view all adults currently admitted to ED
-
From Inpatients > Discharged, you view all adults who have departed ED
-
From Inpatients > Expects, you view all adults who are expected in ED
The three patient list dashboards show the same information about the patients because the same clinical note profile is selected.
